Why did condensation start after new windows?
New windows can reduce uncontrolled draughts. If ventilation was not improved at the same time, indoor humidity may rise and condense on the coldest surfaces.
Should extractor fans vent into the loft?
No. Moist air should be ducted to the outside through a suitable route. Discharging it into the loft can simply move the condensation problem upstairs.
Is trickle ventilation enough?
It depends on the property, moisture load and extraction. Background vents are one part of a wider ventilation plan.
